Sweet Cherry Bourbon Smash

Probably more appropriate for the holidays, but I love cherries and you can’t get them during the winter months!

Ingredients:

  • Handful of pitted black cherries (none of that maraschino…)

  • 2 oz. Bourbon

  • 1 oz. peppermint simple syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, handful of peppermints or fresh mint, boil till combined and cool)

  • Juice of a lime

Technique:

  • Muddle the cherries in the bottom of a shaker

  • Add the rest of the ingredients and ice

  • Shake and pour in a glass rimmed with crushed peppermint

  • Garnish with a cherry (and fresh mint if you’re using instead of the peppermint)
